Have ability to start a new text message from app without having to add a contact first. When at trade show talking to prospect clients, I want to be able to just type in their phone number and start a conversation, then add their name. otherwise very cumbersome and have to ask twice for their phone number and save contact, then find and text contact. Make it work just like sending a text message from regular phone

Allow users to initiate a text conversation on the mobile app by typing a phone number directly, without requiring a saved contact. This is already possible on the web app but is not currently supported on mobile. Customer use case: teams that frequently do quick, one-off check-ins with clients don't want to create a contact record just to send a single message.

Just to confirm, you’re looking to start a new text thread in the mobile app by typing in a phone number directly (without saving them as a contact first), like you can on the web app, right? As a user, I want to enter a number and text it, without any modals prompting me to create a contact. So that if I enter a new number, I go right to sending them a text instead and can fill in the details later

Agree times 2. This would be very helpful and faster. I can always create a contact after the fact, but occasionally I just need to send a quick text and don't need that person in my system.

Agreed. Would also like for contacts to not be auto created when someone calls our number.
